Comfrey

Comfrey root and/or leaves  dried to fill a pint jar (500ml)

1 cup of oil of your choice. ( olive, grapeseed, almond )

1/4 cup of beeswax

Dry the roots and leaves in a dehydrator or you can leave them in a dry warm place for a few days. They should have no excess moisture.

Place your chopped roots and leaves in a jar and cover with oil.  Place in an oven or a pot of water and let it heat through for 90 minutes, do not boil.

Remove from the pot or oven and cover with a cloth to let cool. Once cool cover and let it sit in a cool dark place for 2-3 weeks.

Strain and remove all plant material from the oil. Combine the oil and the beeswax in a pot and warm until the beeswax is melted.

This will be at a 4:1 ratio of oil to wax. 1 cup of oil equals 1/4 wax. If the consistency seems thin add more wax if it seems too thick add more oil.

When the desired consistency is reached pour into containers, label and store.
