Devil's Club
Pretty extensive research has been done on Devil’s club regarding cancers and cancer prevention. It has shown itself to be a good herb for preventing cancers. Testing showed good results on large bowel cancer in men, certain cervical cancers and colorectal cancers, lung and breast cancers which is where most studies are directed their energies towards.
Testing on breast cancer cells showed cell death and inhibited cells from growing. Using a tincture and tea made of the bark extract seemed to be the best at killing breast cancer cells.
When testing on non-small cell lung cancers the bark extract was the most effective and a stem and berry tincture did show significant results at low doses.
Both extractions were done as a tea and showed cell death.
The testing of colorectal cancer cells included varying doses of bark extract tea and bark double extraction tinctures and the tea killed these cancer cells at the source. It was still effective as a tincture but best results were in the bark tea.
If you have a family history of any of these cancers you are more likely to develop one of these and Devil’s Club is definitely an herb that can prevent them from developing.
If you have been diagnosed with one of these already it will keep them from spreading at the very least and is believed to kill certain types of these cancer cell lines.
If you chose to use this I would buy from a reputable source as it is starting to be harvested in greater numbers and it may soon be regulated like ginseng is to foraging for its bark.
