Mustard has large stores of sulfur and is good for treating infections. It not only helps treat current infections but will help prevent infections. Sulfur is key to building amino acids that build proteins, these proteins are part of an antioxidant group. One of the amino acids is responsible for rebuilding DNA, and growth and repair of normal tissue, the other amino acid is used in building hair, skin and nails. It is important for making collagen and adds elasticity and texture to your skin.

Arthritis responds well to mustard seed applied to the joints directly bringing the blood to the surface and helps warm the area and relieve pain. Once the skin is red the poultice should be removed by washing it off. To treat the painful joint mix ground mustard seeds with vinegar to make a paste and apply to the area.

You can also add 1 tablespoon of ground mustard seed to your bath water for arthritic pain.
