Elderberry Double Blind Study

In a randomized double blind, placebo controlled study in Norway,researchers gave 60 patients with influenza type symptoms of less than 48 hours either 15 ml of Elderberry syrup or a placebo four times a day. On average those who received the Elderberry syrup reported the symptoms lasting 4 days less than those that received the placebo. They also reported that they used significantly less over the counter medication to relieve their symptoms
